Did someone say weekend away without the kids?
🙋‍♀️
Indeed I did! In fact, I'm also saying a weekend away without cooking, without cleaning, without listening to the wiggles on repeat...
🤗
Guess what? Registrations are now open for my next retreat! 🏝
This is what Nicole said after last years retreat: "Thank you so much Nikki for hosting a most perfect weekend retreat. Everything was considered and planned with care from food, activities and the location. I could not recommend this enough!! Nikki made sure every component of the weekend was perfect. The massage and cooking class were superb, the yoga stretches on the beach were refreshing, the food was excellent and the venue relaxing and inviting. I will definitely be going on the next one!!!"

The Mum-Me Health and Wellness Retreat is the perfect weekend to refuel your buzz and the best bit yet?
Absolutely no thinking about anyone else but yourself! You will end your weekend with more energy, a greater s
Yesterday I presented a workshop at @baybasincommunityresources on Returning to Exercise and simple ways to make this possible. 👉
One of the tips I shared with the ladies in the session is the process of chunking. 👌
When you have young children often you start the day with the best of intentions to workout but somehow that large timeslot disappears through your day and you find yourself not having worked out at all!
👎
However, not all is lost. If you chunk segments of your time together through the day eg 5 mins in the morning, 5 mins before lunch, 5 mins in the afternoon and then 5 mins of an evening suddenly you have actively moved for 20 minutes of your day. 🙌
This technique is great if your main goal is to increase your daily movement!
What is your favourite exercise to do when you have small chunks of time?
Gosh it’s good to be working in the gym again!!! Today was our first day back and my ladies smashed their workouts!! Did you know that once you turn 30 you begin to lose 8-10% of your muscle tissue every decade. Muscles are the basis of your metabolism, so if your muscles decrease, your metabolism also decreases - which is often why it seems we ‘just can’t eat like we used to’. Strength training is also effective in increasing bone density and strengthening tendons and ligaments. Developing strong bones reduces the risk of developing osteoporosis and decreases the risk of bone fractures as we grow older. ....so yeah - it feels so good to be back in the gym!!! By the way, I have only a few training spots available. If you are keen to build your strength and get moving again, send me a message!
Looking after my future self... I’ve seen this saying a few times but to me it always felt really huge. Like I need to make a major change for my future self. 🤯
Lately, I’ve been reading about ways you can make small changes for your future self. Simply packing your bag the night before to save the frantic run around in the morning or drinking water through the day to save you from all those dehydration feels. 😰
Today I made a choice for my future self which was simply choosing an apple over a chocolate bar. I made that choice because I knew that had I chosen the chocolate bar, my future self would have been feeling sick from sugar overload later that afternoon. I don’t know anyone who enjoys feeling sick!
🤢
So ladies, you don’t need to change the world to care for your future self. Small, conscious changes/choices will still nurture your future self.
What is something that you do to look after your future self?
Do you feel overwhelmed with SO much advice out there about ‘stay healthy doing this’, ‘lose weight this way’, ‘cut X out for y result’.... it is just a bit overwhelming!! Plus who has hours to spend sorting through the multitude of sources that supply all this info? 🤷‍♀️
Want to save time, get clarity and clear direction on the best steps for your health journey? 🙋‍♀️
Whether that be lose weight, have more energy, stronger immune system, freedom to eat without restriction, decreased stress, a clearer mind, increased vitality... just to name a few benefits!
